GARNER, N.C. — Butterball has announced a new animal care and well-being program as it strives "to set industry standards for the nation's turkey producers."

As the largest turkey producer in the U.S., the company noted that it has dedicated significant resources during the past 18 months to establish the program.

Butterball has taken steps to renew and aggressively strengthen its commitment to ensuring the safety and care of its animals across four key focus areas:
