SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California Valley legislators who represent the areas in which Foster Farms facilities are located have sent a letter of support for the company to their colleagues in the California Assembly and Senate.
The letter was in response to news of an outbreak of Salmonella Heidelberg, which has been traced to Foster Farms chickens.
The letter notes that Foster Farms is a family owned company that since 1939 provides West Coast consumers with fresh, natural poultry products that are grown and raised in the West, while employing 12,000 people in its operations in six states.
