WASHINGTON — Demes Gourmet Corp. of Fullerton, Calif., is recalling approximately 29,052 pounds of poultry and pork products due to misbranding, USDA’s Food Safety & Inspection Service has announced. The chicken sausages were wrapped in hog casings that were not listed on the labels. Hog casings may elicit allergic reactions in the rare cases of individuals known to be allergic to pork proteins.
The items were produced on various dates between Sept. 17, 2014, and June 1, 2015. Recalled products are subject 18-pound cases of 12-ounce tray packs of “Panama Sweet Chicken Longanisa.”
