GAINESVILLE, Ga. — U.S. poultry has again been threatened with an outbreak of avian influenza, although this latest outbreak is a milder version than the virus that hit chicken and turkey flocks during the 2015 outbreak.
The Missouri Department of Agriculture has confirmed an outbreak of low pathogenic avian influenza was discovered April 30 at a commercial turkey farm in Jasper County, which extends to the city of Joplin.
All 39.000 turkeys in the flock were euthanized. . .
