ATLANTA — Zaxbys is bringing its signature chicken fingers and sauces to the Big Apple this summer, with not only its first New York location, but also its second.

What began in 1990 in Statesboro, Ga., as a neighborhood restaurant has expanded to more than 1,000 locations in 24 states, is marking its first New York sites in the Bronx and Manhattan.

“New York is one of the most influential food cities in the world, and we’re incredibly proud to introduce Zaxbys to this market,” Bernard Acoca, Zaxbys CEO, said in the announcement. “Opening our first two restaurants in New York this summer marks an exciting milestone in our growth journey and a significant chapter in our expansion across the Northeast.”
“Whether its Southern transplants looking for a taste of home or New Yorkers discovering our Chicken Fingerz and signature sauces for the first time, we’re excited to share the Southern hospitality and bold flavor experiences that have made Zaxbys a fan favorite for more than 35 years,” Acoca added.

The first location, at 3260 Boston Road in the Bronx, is already open. This 2,000-square-foot restaurant drew long lines for its soft opening earlier this summer the company notes, and features seating for 15 guests along with both dine-in and drive-thru service.

The second location, at 1267 First Avenue in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, will open later this summer. This more than 2,800-square-foot restaurant will feature 16 dine-in seats, Zaxbys new modern farmhouse design, as well as self-service ordering kiosks.

The company adds that, “From exclusive menu innovations inspired by New York’s iconic food culture to community-focused experiences and surprise moments for fans, the brand will be showing New Yorkers how to Zax.”
