Winter weather advisory prior to IPPE 2026

ATLANTA — A significant winter weather storm is being forecast for the Atlanta, Ga., area just prior to this year’s 2026 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE). In predicting an oncoming ice storm, as of Jan. 21, weather forecasters report that the North Georgia area could potentially experience through freezing rain up to a half-inch or an inch of ice by late Sunday, Jan. 25.

The National Weather Service noted that a large winter weather system will be moving across the middle of the nation spanning several states delivering snow, sleet, freezing rain, and ice.
