SALT LAKE CITY — Utah has become the second U.S. state to enact legislation to criminalize undercover videos or photographs of agricultural operations.
The state's House and Senate passed H.R. 187 in early March and Gov. Gary Herbert signed the legislation into law on March 20.
The law says that agricultural operations means property used for livestock, poultry, livestock products or poultry products.
A violation of the law is a misdemeanor and results in a fine and the possibility of up to a year of jail time.
