GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Genetically engineering animals has been around since humans began living with dogs, but the results of some of these changes have recently been the focus of some criticisms. With Thanksgiving coming up, it is little wonder that turkeys are in the spotlight.
During the first several Thanksgivings, people had more than 10 different species of colorful and dangling-neck birds to choose from. With the passing of time and the increase in factory poultry farming, the production of the turkey became more organized to keep up with the growing. . .
