WASHINGTON -- USDA's Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service is proposing to amend the regulations governing the importation of poultry from the European Union.
The agency seeks to recognize 25 Member States of the European Union as the APHIS-defined European Union poultry trade region and add it to the list of regions considered to be free of Newcastle disease.
APHIS said it had also determined that the region meets requirements for being considered free of highly pathogenic avian influenza.
