On the grill, beef prices are up, and chicken prices are down

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — It’s getting that time of year to start firing up the grill, but what will it cost this year to cook up your favorites?

It may very well be a mixed bag. In information released by Texas A&M University, Dr. David Anderson, a TAMU AgriLife Extension economist notes that some items like beef will cost more, but some features like chicken wings may cost less.

“It looks like we should be able to find some deals on chicken and pork for cookouts, but retail beef prices continue to stay high on most cuts,” Anderson said. . .
