INDIANAPOLIS — Just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday, the state has accepted a donation of 131,000 pounds of poultry products for the state's food pantries.
Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman accepted the donation from the Indiana State Poultry Association on Nov. 21 at the Statehouse. Some of the donated eggs, chicken, turkey and duck products were delivered to the Statehouse and will be distributed in Indianapolis by the nonprofit Shepherd Community Center. Others will be delivered directly to other communities around Indiana.
