SUWANEE, Ga. — Dennis Hughes of Blackshear, Ga., has been elected to serve as chairman of the Georgia Egg Commission's board of directors for the 2013 calendar year. Jerry Straughan, the outgoing chairman, was named to fill the position of vice chairman.
Hughes is general manager of United Egg Marketers in Blackshear, and has served on the commission's board since 2009. Straughan is director of public relations for the southern division of Cal-Maine Foods. He has been a member of the Georgia Egg Commission's board since 1997 and had served as chairman since 2005.
