FSIS and CFIA to implement joint audit process

WASHINGTON — As part of President Obama’s Beyond the Border (BtB) Action Plan, USDA's Food Safety & Inspection Service is working with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to implement a joint audit process.

Specifically, under the BtB agreement, FSIS and CFIA are tasked with developing methodology and criteria for conducting audits of third countries that export meat and poultry products into Canada and the U.S.
