Congress approves FTAs with South Korea, Colombia and Panama

WASHINGTON — Congress has finally approved three separate free trade agreements (FTA) with South Korea, Colombia and Panama — four years after the pacts were proposed.

The three agreements together are expected to increase U.S. exports by $13 billion and create tens of thousands of jobs.

The House of Representatives passed individual legislation authorizing the trade agreements on Oct. 12. This was immediately followed by Senate votes for passage.

The House votes were 278-151 for South Korea, 262-167 for Colombia and. . .
