Hed: Columbia International University honors Chick-fil-A founder
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Columbia International University at the Bible college’s Dec. 16 commencement exercises.
Cathy’s daughter, Trudy Cathy White, a lay minister and former missionary, delivered the commencement address.
Cathy and his brother Ben started the company in 1946, and today there are more than 1,560 Chick-fil-A restaurants in 39 states and Washington, D.C.
