WASHINGTON — Silva Sausage Co. of Gilroy, Calif., is recalling approximately 28,782 pounds of chicken sausage products because of misbranding and an undeclared allergen. The products contain the undeclared allergen, cultured whey, an ingredient in the spice blend, which is not noted on the label.
The products subject to recall include 14-ounce retail packages of "Silva Sausage Smoked Chicken Apple Sausage, Hickory Smoked Chicken with Apples & Sage" and 10-pound cases containing 2, 5-pound packages of "Silva Sausage Smoked Chicken Apple Sausage."
