WASHINGTON — The Federal Communications Commission and an independent technical company must complete comprehensive and rigorous testing on all proposed technical fixes to ensure there is no interference between broadband and GPS signals, the American Farm Bureau has told Congress.
The AFBF's Oct. 12 testimony was in reference to the LightSquared company which proposes to build an open wireless broadband network using a technology called Long Term Evolution (LTE). The LTE network will be combined with a commercial satellite to provide coverage of the entire U.S. LightSquared will also build out its own nationwide wireless network of base stations. . .
