AMSA honors meat industry legend

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — The American Meat Science Association (AMSA) has announced the F.C. Parrish Jr. Mentor Recognition. The mentor recognition fund, established at the recent AMSA 66th RMC held at Auburn University. will be used to support student activities.

Parrish was a university professor at Iowa State University from 1965-2001, serving in the Department of Animal Science as well as the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition. He also coached the Intercollegiate Meats Judging Team from 1976-2000, and directed thesis research for more than 30 graduate students.
