FRESNO, Calif. — An 18-year Riverdale, Calif., man and three juveniles are in custody in connection with the slaughter of more than 900 chickens at Foster Farms, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office has reported.
Arrested was Gabriel Quintero along with two boys, ages 15 and 17, from Caruthers and a 17-year-old boy from Lemoore.
The chickens were killed Sept. 20 when the suspects broke into a chicken shed and used a golf club or similar weapon. Foster Farms, the owner of the shed, estimated the damage at $5,000 and offered a $5,000 reward for information. . .
