Preschools in Boulder, Colo., call “fowl” over state ban

DENVER — A new state ban in Colorado, which took effect Jan. 14, has left many parents and professionals of preschools and childcare centers yelling foul. The state ban stop licensed preschools and childcare centers from keeping live poultry on site or bringing them into the classroom.

Niwot Shepherd Valley Waldorf’s Egg Mobile — a mobile coop that houses about 100 chickens — is now housed on a nearby property, owned by parents, and the chicken lessons for the students are on hold.
