WASHINGTON — The Foundation for Meat and Poultry Research and Education has issued its 2016-2017 Request for Proposals (RFP), seeking research that will improve the control of pathogens in meat and poultry products.
The foundation, which was formerly the North American Meat Institute Foundation, noted that it has funded more than $9 million in research projects over the past 15 years, and has directly impacted food safety in the industry, including dramatic improvements in the control of Listeria monocytogenes in ready-to-eat meat and poultry products and Shiga toxin-producing E.coli (STEC) in meat. . .
