GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Top U.S. broiler and egg associations have voiced opposition to proposals on new rules for organic poultry.
The National Chicken Council and United Egg Producers presented comments on proposed regulations for the National Organic Program, announced in April, that would affect how organic poultry is raised.
One area the two groups dispute is a proposal to require that organic poultry be allowed access to outside areas but that no porches be attached to bird housing.
