SALISBURY, Md. — Drew Getty has recently been selected as Perdue Farms’ new executive vice president and general counsel. Petty has been with Perdue since 2012 and will also serve on the company’s Management Committee.
“Drew is a trusted leader whose experience, judgement and deep understanding of Perdue position him exceptionally well to lead our legal function,” Kevin McAdams, Perdue Farms CEO, said in the announcement. “Throughout his career here, he has demonstrated an ability to navigate complex issues while remaining grounded in our values and focused on the needs of the business.”
“His appointment reflects both the strength of the leadership talent within Perdue and the importance we place on planning thoughtfully for the future,” McAdams added.
Getty is succeeding Herb Frerich, Perdue’s prior and first general counsel, who will be retiring following a transition period. During this time, Frerich, who has been with Perdue for more than 26 years, will be the company’s senior vice president and strategic advisor to the CEO and general counsel.
In this role as general counsel, Getty will lead the company’s legal functions, serve as a strategic advisor, and guide Perdue’s legal and business risk management, governance and compliance practices. He will also continue to direct the company’s environmental and sustainability initiatives.
Prior to his tenure with Perdue Farms, Getty worked with Miles & Stockbridge, as well as the Appellate Court of Maryland. He has a bachelor’s degree in English from Dickinson College, and a juris doctor degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
