MIDDLEBURY, Ind. — To assist food pantries and food banks across Indiana and Michigan, Culver Duck Farms has recently donated more than 518,000 duck eggs, which is over 43,000 dozen.
As rising food costs affect families, these food banks, like many, have experienced an increase in demand. This duck egg donation will provide a nutrient-rich protein source to help those facing food insecurities, the company noted in its announcement.
“No family should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from,” Sean Smith, Culver Duck Farms general manager, said in a statement. “We’re fortunate to be in a position to provide a nutritious source of protein to local food banks, and we’re committed to continuing this effort.”
The company’s donations do not stop with this recent offering. Culver Duck Farms notes that it has plans in 2026 to donate an additional amount of more than 8,300 dozen regular and large eggs, which is approximately 100,000 duck eggs. It adds that it is working with these hunger-relief organizations to identify locations that much in need.
“Working with the Food Bank of Northern Indiana in South Bend, Culver identified communities where support could have the greatest impact,” the company said in its announcement. “In 2026, the company directed charitable contributions to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, Second Harvest Food Bank, Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, and Forgotten Harvest, reinforcing its commitment to fighting food insecurity throughout the region.”
Culver Duck Farms also adds that it has weekly donations to two Elkhart County food pantries, which often contain double yolk eggs, which contain extra protein and vitamins.
