SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. — In conjunction with its upcoming Annual Meeting and Summer Getaway, the Tennessee Poultry Association is welcoming entries for its 10th annual Youth Art Contest.
Rule number one – all art entries must have a chicken theme.
The TPA’s annual meeting will be held July 31-Aug. 1, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn.
There are three age categories: 9 and under; 10-14 years-old; and 15-18 years-old. Each age category will have a first, second and third place winner with certificates, and will be eligible for cash prizes, as well. The Best of Show overall winner’s artwork will be auctioned during the association’s live auction fundraiser, with the proceeds being awarded to the youth artist as a scholarship.
Children, grandchildren, nieces/nephews, stepchildren and family of TPA grower members, poultry complex employees or qualified allied company members are eligible.
Entries will be judged by an industry representative panel on Thursday, July 30.
New for this year – All art entries must be sent via mail, and received by Tuesday, July 28, accompanied by an entry form, to: Tracy Rafferty, 210 Chick Rd., Beaver Dam, Ky. 42320. The association does not accept artwork brought to the meeting this year, it must be mailed beforehand.
