BUFFALO, Minn. — The Midwest Poultry Federation is debuting a new process for donation requests this month. The vast majority of net revenue garnered from MPF’s show, PEAK, which stands for Progress, Experience, Achievement, and Knowledge, each year is given back to its member organizations and also to other organizations that help further MPF’s support of industry education programs that provide learning and/or career opportunities, MPF stated in an announcement.

New this year, the federation is launching a donations request process to facilitate the system for multi-state poultry organizations and groups that need funds for projects that impact poultry producers through education or promote interest in careers in the poultry industry.

“Our organization is a 501©6 nonprofit organization based in Minnesota and we are proud of the work we have done to expand the PEAK experience for attendees and exhibitors, while also keeping fiscally responsible,” MPF President Blake Van Denburgh of Feliz Inc., said. “Since 2000, MPF has given back over $900,000 in donations and that continues to be a major focus for us. It is gratifying to see PEAK’s net revenue go back to the poultry industry to make a difference in the areas that are near and dear to our mission.”

Funding requests for projects must come from organizations that have an impact in member multi-state poultry groups and inspire the mission of PEAK, which is to provide progress, experience, advancement and knowledge to the poultry industry, MPF noted.

The donation request form is available on the MPF website and must be submitted by Sept. 1. Final decisions on funding will be discussed at the MPF’s fall meeting and announced after Nov. 1.

MPF’s state member organizations don’t need to use this form to apply for funds as that will be handled via a separate process and will continue as in the past within the organization’s by-laws and policies, MPF added.
