LIVINGSTON, Calif. — Foster Farms recently announced the appointment of Riz Akbar as its new chief commercial officer, adding that in this role, he will oversee the company’s commercial strategy as it continues to invest in growing its brand.

Akbar brings more than 20 years of experience driving brand growth and developing commercial strategies at major consumer packaged goods organizations to his new job, the company noted in its announcement. Before working with Foster Farms, he led commerce strategy and digital transformation for Pilgrim’s, delivering transformative results and brand growth.

He has held leadership positions at Publicis Groupe, Neo WPP, Mondelez, and Kraft Foods, where he successfully led sales and launched global campaigns that elevated iconic brands worldwide, the company added.

“Growing our brand is central to our company strategy, and we remain committed to supporting the growth of our customers,” Jayson Penn, Foster Farms CEO, said. “I am confident that with Riz’s leadership, we will be even better positioned to serve the millions of consumers who have made our brand a part of their lives for generations.”
“I’m excited to join Foster Farms and build on the heritage of a brand that has been trusted by consumers for more than eight decades,” Akbar said. “I am dedicated to carrying the brand legacy forward while leading new opportunities for growth and success.”
