SALISBURY, Md. — Perdue Farms is leading the way in workplace safety, the company announced, adding that recently the Joint Industry Safety and Health Council recognized 36 Perdue Farms facilities at its annual event in Destin, Fla.
Each year, the council – which includes members from the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association, National Chicken Council, and National Turkey Federation – awards its highest honor, the Award of Distinction, to facilities that demonstrate exceptional leadership in implementing innovative and effective workplace safety and health processes. Eight Perdue facilities received this honor, more than any other member company this year.
