UPDATE: As previously reported, the USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service released an interim final rule for poultry farms to get compensation after testing positive for highly pathogenic avian influenza.
On March 13, the agency announced that the comment period on the interim final rule has been extended another 30 days until April 14, 2025.
This interim rule was effective after its posting in the Federal Register; however, when this updated comment period closes, APHIS says that it will again post in the Federal Register, along with a discussion of received comments.
