Chicken exports in June down 0.6 percent in value

WASHINGTON — Chicken exports in June this year were 275,749 metric tons valued at $328.60 million compared with 311,968 tons valued at $330.73 million in June 2010, an 11.6 percent decrease in quantity and a 0.6 percent decrease in value, reports the National Chicken Council.

Broiler parts exports within the overall chicken category were 252,410 tons valued at $287.32 million this June, 13.9 percent below the 293,244 tons in June 2010 and 2.8 percent below the $295.65 million year earlier. Whole chicken exports increased significantly with a 31.3. . .
