Minnesota crowns poultry prince and princess

MINNEAPOLIS — Brandon Severns, a 15 year-old from Good Thunder, Minn., and Amy Anderson, a 16 year-old from Cambridge, Minn., were given the royal chicken treatment on Sunday, Aug. 28, after winning the honors of Minnesota’s newest Poultry Prince and Princess at the 2011 Minnesota State Fair.

In addition to serving as poultry ambassadors for the upcoming year, they will receive $1,000 academic scholarships and royal portraits painted by the State Fair’s official artist Steve Thomas. Minnesota 4-H and Gold’n Plump teamed up to sponsor the second annual Poultry Prince and Princess Contest to. . .
