WASHINGTON — the U.S. District Court in Georgia has approved a donning and doffing settlement between Tyson Foods and about 17,000 plant employees in 12 states, according to the National Chicken Council's Washington Report.
Workers in 41 plants in the 12 states will receive an average of $1,000 each under terms of the consent decree. The total cost is estimated at $32 million, including $15 million for legal fees.
