Cagle’s files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy

ATLANTA — Cagle's Inc. has announced that it and its wholly-owned subsidiary Cagle's Farms, Inc. (collectively, "Cagle's") have filed voluntary petitions for relief under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. Cagle's filed the petitions Oct. 20 in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia in Atlanta, Georgia.

Cagle's emphasized that normal operations and customer service will continue without disruption, including sales, order processing and delivery. In connection with its Chapter 11 filing, Cagle's also announced that it anticipates receiving court approval for a debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing. . .
