Pureed chicken products recalled for misbranding, undeclared allergen

WASHINGTON — Popkoff Frozen Food, dba Blossom Foods of San Francisco, Calif., is recalling approximately 500 pounds of frozen, pureed chicken products because of misbranding and an undeclared allergen. The products contain the allergen, soy, which is not declared on the label.

The products being recalled include 5-ounce single-serving cups and 5-pound bags of "Blossom Foods-Dark and White Meat Chicken with Vegetables."

The products bear the establishment number "P-4966" inside the USDA mark of inspection on the packaging and were produced on various dates between May and Nov. 29, 2011. They were sold to institutions in. . .
