TUCKER, Ga. — The U.S. poultry industry voiced several concerns with the Environmental Protection Agency's proposed National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) Reporting Rule.
The rule, proposed on Oct. 21, 2011, would require owners and operators of CAFOs to submit certain information to EPA. Specifically, EPA is requesting detailed location information and farm demographics for virtually every family farm engaged in the production of commercial poultry and egg products in the U.S.
