Ohio food company plans to reopen Indiana plant

CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. — Food-processing company Sugar Creek Packing Co. plans to reopen an eastern Indiana plant where an organic food company had planned to have 1,000 workers before shutting down last year.

Sugar Creek has announced that it plans to spend $28.5 million to expand and refurbish the former Really Cool Foods plant near Cambridge City, Ind., and have it back in operation late next year.

The Washington Court House, Ohio-based company has five facilities in Ohio and Kansas and prepares a variety of raw and fully cooked products for domestic. . .
